FIFA Women's World Cup 2023 updates

In 2023, there's a special soccer tournament called the FIFA Women's World Cup. It's the 20th time this championship is happening, and it's all about women's national teams from around the world playing soccer. This time, it will be in Australia and New Zealand, which is really cool because it's the first time in that part of the world.

A total of 32 teams will compete. Some, like Australia and New Zealand, are already in because they're hosting. Others will have to win in their own regions to get in.

They'll figure out who plays against who on October 22, 2022, in New Zealand.

The United States is the champs from the last time in 2019. They want to win again, which hasn't happened since 2003 and 2007 when Germany did it.

Other strong teams are France and England, who did well last time. Brazil, Canada, and Spain are also really good and want to win.

The games will happen from July 20 to August 20, 2023. It's a chance to see awesome soccer and support women athletes from all over.

Remember these dates:

  • They'll pick the groups on October 22, 2022.
  • The first games start on July 20, 2023.
  • The last match is on August 20, 2023.
